It's good to check your jewelry periodically by placing the thumb on the back and a finger on the front and pushing the two ends together in gentle, straight motion to avoid kinking the pin.
If your jewelry starts coming apart often, it's best to go to a professional piercing shop and have the piercer readjust the bends with an approved tool.
